After graduating and gaining expereince as an early childhood teacher I wanted to create a great early childhood centre with a difference. There was a lack of science based activities being offered to children in centres that I had worked in so that formed the basis of my centre vision. I have a passion for questioning, exploration and finding out why? With my husband Matt being a mechanical engineer and also passionate about science and technology we combined our interests and created Kidditech. A small high quality early childhood centre that is both a great place for our teachers to work and an rich learning environment for children. We both believe in challenging the status quo and inspiring others and we operate Kidditech with those ideals.
It is a privilege to be involved in the lives of the families at Kidditech and the small community oriented centre enables us to offer a high quality service. I take pride in ensuring our team is happy and inspired enabling them to offer an inviting, fun and creative environment for the children.
I am a keen baker and share this interest with the children whenever I can, I enjoy gardening and pretty much anything that involves being creative. Matt loves to build stuff and shares his skills with the children when he is at Kidditech, he involves the children in fixing any broken toys and they love to help. Matt is a keen footballer and also gets out four wheel driving whenever he can.
I have a Diploma of Teaching Early Childhhood Education from Rangi Ruru Early Childhood College and Matt has an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Canterbury and NZCE Mech.
We have a young family, with two sons; Riley aged four and Tom aged two. Family is very important to us and we both thoroughly enjoy the time we get to spend as a family, we also share our interests and creativity with Riley and Tom, needless to say our boys love being in dads truck and baking and gardening with mum.
